<aside> 🗒️ Programs in Atlas are actually program instances, meaning that each program listed has a unique start date and end date. Each instance (or cohort) of a program must be created to then add courses and students.

Courses need to be created for each cohort or program instance. You cannot add students to a course that belongs with another program cohort.
Terms: When creating a course, you must specify which term the course belongs to. If the course spans multiple terms, the grade will only be recorded for the latest term it belongs to. If you want the course to show up twice, we advise breaking up the course into Part A and Part B, or something of the like.
<aside> ⚠️ We are working on a “clone” function like we have for program, but in the meantime, it is critical that course names match prior course names so that we can run analytics and groupings.

You have to manually close courses. If you don’t, and the course end date has passed, it will move to the past category and must be manually closed in order for grades to record to the student record and transcript.
Programs will be automatically closed when the clock hours are met and the end date has passed.

Once a student is enrolled in the admissions module, they will automatically appear in the program roster. Therefore, there is no need to add students to a program.
