With MyPath, schools now have the option to use QR codes to track student clock-ins! By toggling-on “Use QR Code for Clock-In” in an attendance entry or Course Schedule, students must scan a rotating QR code to clock into class. The code refreshes every 5 seconds to prevent students from sharing screenshots with peers outside of class, ensuring accuracy in attendance tracking. The guided walk-through below outlines the QR Code feature from a school’s perspective.
Prereqs
- Your MyPath environment must have the QR Code feature preset toggled on. Please reach out to [email protected] if you would like to see this toggled on for your school.
- You must be tagged as a faculty member for the Course in which you would like to manage student clock-ins using a QR Code
- You must create attendance entries, or schedules, that are of the type “Clock-In” or “Clock-In & Clock-Out”
- You must toggle on “Use QR Code for Clock-In” for the attendance entries created above
- Students must give MyPath (from their device and/or browser) permission to access their device’s camera so the QR Code Reader can be generated
